The pennant season for both VLBA & RVBA Diamond Creek Pennant teams for 2009/2010 has now been finalised.
The VLBA B2 side finished the home & away matches on top of the ladder (Section 4) and will be promoted next season, but with the proposed Pennant Division & Section changes next season it is unclear (to me) which Division the DC-B2 side will be in.
The RVBA Div 7 side (DC-3) finished the home & away matches 2nd on the ladder (Section 3) but as the section semi-final was lost to Eltham-4, DC3 will not be promoted.
In relation to the finals matches, I can certainly say that the support shown by Diamond Creek members in attending & supporting both finals teams at the three finals locations of Diamond Creek, Doncaster and Essendon was very much appreciated by those members playing for Diamond Creek.
Also, thinking about the complete Pennant season, it takes a big effort to field the 7 sides, and thanks must go to the Team Managers, Duty Rinks, Scorers, Greens team, Match Committees, Coaches, Umpires, Kitchen workers, Bar staff, Money collectors, Raffle organisers, Announcers, plus other members/workers who I might have omitted, a very big THANK YOU.
